FAQ: How do I know what Suite I am going to for my first appointment?

A: You should have a received a text and an email when we initially scheduled the appointment. (commonly found in spam/junk) Reminder texts and emails were also sent with the Suite location.

Christie Martin, msw, lcsw

Christie Martin is the proud founder and CEO of my therapy place, PLLC. She has a Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a degree in Sociology from North Carolina State University. She is licensed with the North Carolina Board of Clinical Social Workers. Christie has more than 12 years of practice post-master's degree and over 25 years of experience in social work, teaching, and coaching positions. She has experience in providing outpatient therapy, Intensive In Home, Day Treatment, and School Social work. Christie is a nationally rostered clinician in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) with the North Carolina Child Treatment Program (NC CTP).

Christie prides herself on being down to earth and personable with kids, teenagers, and their families. She enjoys getting on the floor and having fun with the little ones, and as well as meeting teenagers where they are at in their lives and focusing on their needs and goals. Christie provides a judgment-free environment where families feel comfortable growing and learning.

Fun Facts about Christie: She has 32 instruments, she shaved her head and hiked the Appalachian trail, bleeds coffee, and for her first job, she painted trash dumpsters. (The mtp team made me put that last one in here :)

COURTNEY RAFAEL, MS, LCMHCA

Courtney Rafael grew up in Elon, North Carolina. Her degrees are in History and Special Education with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Courtney has experience working with a range of individuals of all ages in the outpatient therapy setting. From the little ones to the young adults, she believes that every age has the right to be heard and supported.

Courtney specializes in play therapy, often utilizing her sand tray, toys, art, games, and her fun, energetic personality! She works to help individuals realize and reach their full potential. She has participated in a multitude of trainings for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as play therapy. She likes to work with kiddos and families using a cognitive behavioral lens, however, believes that there is not a one size that fits all modality and treatment.

Fun Facts about Courtney: Her elder dog Sadie’s original purpose was to be a monastery lookout. Courtney loves Taylor Swift, punk rock, and alternative bands.

JENNIFER WEYANT,MSC,lcmhc

Jennifer grew up in Charlotte, NC. She lived in Virginia for 15 years before relocating to Kernersville. She studied Psychology at Liberty University and received her education in School Counseling. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds. Her primary orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, while also promotes Solution Focused Modalities. Jennifer enjoys working along side her clients to help them face the challenges of life, learn to advocate for themselves, and work towards becoming their best version of themselves. She believes that not everyone has been given equal opportunities but with help they reach their full potential. A person possess personal strengths and does not believes that that what a person goes through needs to to define who they are. Jennifer is also passionate about connecting and strengthen family ties and building support systems for each individual.

Fun Facts about Jennifer: She has been to four continents and sixteen countries. She grew up playing soccer and loves walking, biking, and pickleball.

linsey sparks, msw, lcswA

Linsey Sparks grew up in Western Kentucky and later relocated to West Tennessee after completing her studies at Murray State University, where she majored in Public Relations and Nonprofit Leadership Studies. She earned her Masters in Social Work and Masters in Business of Administration from Union University.

Linsey is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate in the state of North Carolina. Linsey has worked in macro and micro levels, in the community and agencies, with children, teenagers, parents, and families. She has recently relocated to Greensboro, NC. Her therapeutic approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with person centered techniques, as she is passionate in helping clients feel seen, heard, and understood!

Linsey strives to support members of the LGBTQ+ community, advocating for her clients’ happiness, health, and connection to the world around them. She believes that all have the ability to reach their desired potential.

Fun Facts about Linsey: She read Ninety books last year and is a huge fan of live music and attending concerts. She grew up in a tiny town in Kentucky with one stop light and graduated with 36 people.

TAJSHANA(Tajsh)SOLOMON,MSW, LCSW

Tajshana Solomon grew up in Trenton, New Jersy. She studied Psychology with a minor in Education and concentration in Race and Ethnic Relations at Clark University andreceived her Masters in Clinical Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dually licensed in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She has 7 years of experience providing therapy to clients in outpatient, community mental health, and school settings. She has experience working with clients of diverse backgrounds and identities including clients on the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent spectrums.

She utilizes a psychodynamic approach to her work and incorporates cognitive, art, and narrative based therapy techniques. She works from a trauma sensitive, culturally humble, and strength-based perspective and places special emphasis on the concept of change and growth. Tajsh enjoys co-creating an inviting space with and for her clients to explore themselves and the greater world we all exist in.

Tajsh’s counseling skills alongside her approachable demeanor, attitude, and humor fosters a relational therapy experience for all. She understands therapy can be a challenging space and wishes to make it accessible to all of her clients. She wishes to empower her clients to live in their truth, abandon behaviors that are no longer serving them, and create new ways of coping with adversity.

Fun facts about Tajsh: She loves to travel! Some notable destinations she’s been to include, Jamaica,Amsterdam, Toronto, Brussels, Kenya, South Korea, Cancun, Bali, London, and Japan. 

lynsey power, MA, LCMHCA

Lynsey Power grew up in Wisconsin and ventured out to Indiana and Iowa for school. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Ball State University and her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The University of Northern Iowa.

Lynsey has developed a passion for helping children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 5-25) navigate anxiety, behavioral challenges, trauma, grief, family transitions, emotional regulation issues, etc. She uses a combination of play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, person- centered, interpersonal therapy, strength-based approach, and family collaboration to meet each client where they are at.

Play Therapy is a specialty for her as she helps kids (ages 3-12) express their feelings through play as that is a child’s natural language. Play therapy creates a safe and developmentally appropriate space where children can explore their feelings, develop problem-solving skills, build self-esteem, and heal from difficult experiences. Children often express themselves differently than adults—and that’s where play therapy can make all the difference. Whether it’s through art, play, or storytelling, she helps children process their feelings in a safe and nurturing environment while supporting parents with tools to establish growth at home. Every person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. Lynsey is here to walk alongside your family with empathy, curiosity, and care.

Fun Facts about Lynsey: She fosters kittens and has an identical twin. She enjoys going on hikes and cooking different foods.

Faith Jeffers is from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. She earned her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Masters of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Faith has experience and passion for working with individuals and families of diverse backgrounds, specifically for those with anxiety, depression, beahvioral concerns, as well as working through trauma, and grief. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the client(s), incorporating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-based Therapy, Mindfulness, and others.

Faith has a personable demeanor in which she loves to utilize her sense of humor and creativity to form successful therapeutic alliances with clients and families. You may also finding her useing art, games, dance, and music as a medium of communication to foster an in-depth understanding. By doing so, Faith allows room for the client to feel empowered by both the tools she introduces to them, but also the tools that already possess to help them cope, heal, and thrive in life.

Fun Facts: Faith is legally blind! She wears both contacts & glasses because otherwise she is a walking hazard, LOL! Faith also grew up trail riding and barrel racing and danced from ages 3 to 22.

kRISTIN MEREDITH, MS

Kristin is the Director of Administrative Operations for my therapy place, PLLC, sometimes referred to as the 'sidekick' to our CEO, Christie, or 'boss lady junior'! Kristin completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, minor in Sociology, and Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. She later went on to complete her Master of Science in Psychology, graduating from Tiffin University in 2021. She has worked in the behavioral health field for more than 9 years. Prior to transitioning to my therapy place, she was in an outpatient pediatric setting for approximately 8 years.

Kristin’s role consists of administrative office management, processing referrals and scheduling, project management, employee relations, insurance authorizations, and community outreach. She is a jack of all trades who is passionate about helping individuals and families get services needed to be the healthiest, happiest, and best version of themselves.

Fun facts about Kristin: She teaches highschoolers through the student ministry, took dance classes since age 5 with tap being her favorite, and danced competively. She joined the sorority Zeta Tau Alpha during freshman year of college and served as a chapter advisor for few years as an alumnus.

Victoria fleury, MSW, LCSW

Victoria Fleury moved to Greensboro, North Carolina in 2019 after receiving her Masters in Social Work from Boston College. She has a background working with children and adolescents of color in a variety of settings including school based, intensive in home and now outpatient services. Victoria also has experience working with immigrant families and domestic violence survivors. 

Victoria’s therapeutic approach is trauma informed, client centered through a social justice lens. Her personal life experiences, clinical knowledge, and work as a social worker advocating for individuals enable her to be the support her clients need. Her therapy involves helping clients see that the solutions they seek are inside of them.  She believes in opening up herself to provide a safe,  unbiased space for kids to be their true, authentic self. She uses a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma or Conduct Problems. (MATCH).

Fun Facts about Victoria: She is the queen of many hobbies. She loves reading, the beach, and her golden retriever, Mimosa.

sidnee williams, msw, lcsw

Sidnee Williams is from Fayetteville, North Carolina and now calls Greensboro her home. She studied English Secondary Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and later received her Master of Social Work with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her interests are working with children and families of diverse backgrounds utilizing mindfulness, emotion regulation, and challenging of irrational thoughts. These techniques have been proven to serving as the ability to increase quality of life. Sidnee is a nationally rostered clinician in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) with the North Carolina Child Treatment Program (NC CTP).

Sidnee’s experience in education helped her to acknowledge the need for advocacy extending beyond what could be accomplished within the limitations of the classroom. She has developed a succeeding passion championing mental health for all, especially those in marginalized communities, and is a liaison for resources to aid in the success of the clients she serves. Most would say that Sidnee is genuine and kind. She believes that every individual possesses the ability to make the changes that they desire for themselves; all it takes is a little effort!

Fun Facts about Sidnee: She is a huge fan of cooking competitions, especially The Great British Baking Show, enjoys hosting dinner parties, loves to sing her heart out, and hopes to one day go to Australia.

Jacqueline Thompson, LCMHC

Jacqueline Thompson grew up in Randleman, North Carolina. She studied Sociology with a concentration in Family Development at Appalachian State University and earned her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Carolina University. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. Jacqueline has over five years' experience counseling clients ranging from preschool to adulthood, from diverse cultural backgrounds, and with different abilities. She has extensive training in managing ADHD, positive parenting, and play therapy.

Jacqueline's approach is strengths based and influenced by Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She believes that children learn best through play and utilizes a variety of creative and interactive techniques to build skills. Jacqueline believes that children are resilient, full of surprises, and capable of exponential growth. She is dedicated to making sure that every family she works with feels understood and supported. 

Fun Facts About Jacqueline: She has a little bit of chocolate with her coffee every morning, she can do any home repair herself, and loves reading.

jennifer (jen) strider,ma, lcmhca

Jen Strider is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina with a passion for helping individuals of all ages feel seen, heard, and empowered. Jennifer earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2024, following a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in 2012.

Jen has experience working in outpatient settings with children, teens, and adults, with diagnosis including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Eating Disorders, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder just to name a few. Jen also has the experience of teaching elementary school across diverse populations. Her therapeutic style blends cognitive behavioral therapy with solution-focused and person-centered approaches, tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Jen has a gentle and caring way about her, who helps kids and families feel comfortable, heard, and safe. She provides a supportive space where clients can explore their challenges, gain insight, and develop tools for meaningful change. Jen’s goal is to walk alongside you, to support your growth, and empower you to become the best version of yourself.

Fun Facts about Jen: Her blood type is Diet Coke, she loves the smell of skunks, and she coaches travel softball.

Margaret Webb, MSW, LCSWA

Margaret is from upstate New York but has called Greensboro her home for the last 10 years. She has a Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and North Carolina A&T and is an Associate Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Margaret is trained in play therapy and loves working with young children. She sees play as their language, using it to communicate, observe, listen, model, and teach, while integrating therapeutic techniques tailored to each child's goals.

Margaret is particularly passionate about helping GLBTQIA2+ adolescents and young adults. As a gender-affirming therapist, she supports those exploring gender identity or experiencing gender dysphoria. She is trained in trauma informed care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals, and working with those on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. She draws from mindfulness, parts work, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy. She has experience working with those with anxiety, depression, trauma, body issues, sex and sexuality, navigating life transitions, emotional regulation, behavioral issues, and religious trauma.

Fun Facts about Margaret: She thrifts for maximalist treasures, reads fantasy novels, and was named after the main character in the book, “A Wrinkle in Time.”

DUSTIN GANTOS, Ma, lcmhc

Dustin Gantos is an Alamance County native from Gibsonville, NC. He studied Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as earning his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at South University in High Point. Dustin is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with specialties in intensive trauma work (EMDR and TF-CBT) as well as interests in treatment of anxiety, integrative mental health, and trauma in relationships. Dustin’s therapeutic orientation is primarily cognitive behavioral therapy, however, he implores many techniques and interventions from a variety of treatment modalities. He has experience working with children of all ages as well as adults and excels at working with parent/child dynamics using family therapy.

Dustin’s approach to therapy can be a mixture between keeping therapy light with the use of humor necessary directness. He is an advocate for helping clients to help themselves through empowerment and encouraging routine self-care. He is very energetic and willing to get up and move with his clients.

Fun Facts about Dustin: His favorite travel destination is Polyaigos, an island in Greece. Being around people recharges and feeds his soul, and aside from people he loves cactuses and sharks.
